Convite para curso de Bio-Linux em Manchester pelo NERC Environmental Bioinformatics Centre
Dear All,
We still have places available on the forthcoming Bio-Linux course to be held in Manchester in 2 months time. The course is NBAF-funded and targeted at NERC researchers but this is not a requirement to attend, so if you are interested please do sign up.
The NERC Biomolecular Analysis Facility node at CEH Wallingford provides a range of bioinformatics services for NERC researchers as part of the Environmental Bioinformatics Centre (http://nebc.nerc.ac.uk). This course is being offered as part of the NBAF-W remit but is open to all and will most benefit anyone looking to do bioinformatics work in a Linux environment, in particular with high throughput sequencing data.
This course assumes no prior knowledge of Linux and introduces the new user to the Bio-Linux 6.0 system. It includes a tour of the desktop, information on finding programs and documentation, and provides experience running graphical and command line tools.
The full day course is made up of two parts:
Part 1 – Introduction to the Linux desktop environment and command shell.
Part 2 – Focuses on running bioinformatics programs on Bio-Linux and providing the information you need to make intelligent choices about the programs and interfaces you use to run your bioinformatics analyses.
See our NBAF courses page (http://nebc.nerc.ac.uk/support/training/) for information on all our courses and freely available course materials.
Full info and downloads for Bio-Linux can be found at http://nebc.nerc.ac.uk/tools/bio-linux
For any queries regarding the course, please contact the local host Norman Morrison ()
There is a small £25 registration fee to cover costs and lunch.
Please sign up at the link below.
Kind regards,
The Bio-Linux Team
